Today, November 17, 2023, the Romanian Embassy in Sofia hosted a conference organised by Global Focus Romania, under the title “Advancing cooperative security beyond NATO/EU borders: Prospects for enhanced regional cooperation among Black Sea littoral states”.

A remarkable initiative, where great ideas and efforts were put together, the conference was organized by Global Focus Romania, together with Sofia Security Forum, Romanian Embassy in Bulgaria, with support from the Friedrich Naumann Foundation for Freedom and NATO Public Diplomacy Division.

The main speakers were Yordan Bozhilov, director of Sofia Security Forum, Oana Popescu (Global Focus), Sergey Konoplyov, Harvard lecturer and adviser to the Head of the Ukrainian National Security Council, Mustafa Audin (Kadir Has University), and Alina Inayeh (GMF Romania).

The Romanian Diplomatic Institute was represented by our colleague, Dragoș Mateescu, director for analysis, who also had, on this occasion, a productive meeting on collaboration projects with the director of the Bulgarian Diplomatic Institute, Tanya Mihaylova.
