The Romanian Diplomatic Institute marked the 75th anniversary of the adoption of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights through the event “Women Empowerment: Challenges and Success Stories”.
Organized in collaboration with the Embassy of Sweden in Romania, the meeting began with a panel discussion composed by:
- H.E. Mrs. Therese Hyden, Ambassador of Sweden to Romania
- H.E. Mrs. Maria Pia Busta Diaz, Ambassador of the Republic of Chile to Romania
- Mrs. Ruxandra Ivan, State Counselor in the Prime Minister’s Chancellery
- Mrs. Elisabeta David, Director General at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The discussion, moderated by Mrs. Liliana Popescu-Bîrlan, General Director of the Romanian Diplomatic Institute, focused on the personal experiences of the speakers who, as women in high positions, faced challenges in reaching leadership positions, but also encountered opportunities.
The panel was followed by a reception hosted by H.E. Mrs. Therese Hyden at the Ambassador’s residence, where she spoke about Claudia Goldin, the Nobel Prize laureate in Economic Sciences this year.
We express our gratitude to our sponsors who prepared generous and delightful surprises for the guests: 5toGo, Lara Sweets, Avon, Tip Top, Iz de Poveste, Hidden Desire, Lavandă Lola, iFlori, Chez Odette and L’Amande. We thank them for the experience and memories they provided to the participants.
We are pleased with the information gathered during the “Women Empowerment: Challenges and Success Stories” event, we thank the participating ambassadors (not a few!) and look forward to future events.
