The professional training program "Romanian Values in European Affairs"
The professional training program “Romanian Values in European Affairs” took place between September 30 and October 4, 2024, in Bucharest. This program was dedicated to dignitaries, diplomats, and public officials from the Republic of Moldova. Organized by the Romanian Diplomatic Institute (RDI), in partnership with the Department for Relations with the Republic of Moldova (DRRM), and the Government of Romania, the program aims to strengthen the RM capacity to implement the necessary reforms for EU accession. This initiative promotes the exchange of knowledge and good practices, supporting the European integration of RM.
The program represented a valuable opportunity for dignitaries and public officials from the Republic of Moldova to deepen their understanding of European policies and explore ways in which Romania’s experience in European affairs could support the reform process in RM. The program was funded by the Government of Romania, through the DRRM.
In terms of the courses organized as part of the program, the invited lecturers covered topics such as the EU accession process, Romanian energy policies, the impact of EU funds on Romania’s development, the role of the judiciary in combating corruption, strategies for countering disinformation, the working experience of Romanian journalists accredited to European institutions, and anti-European narratives in Romania and Moldova.
Regarding the working visits, Moldovan communicators had the opportunity to participate in study visits to the Fight Against Fraud Department (DLAF), the Ministry of European Investment and Projects (MIPE), Cotroceni National Museum, which is under the authority of the Presidential Administration, and the Competition Council.
