“Why does Latin America matter for Romania?”

A particularly interesting debate was concluded at the conference entitled “Why does Latin America matter for Romania?”, organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MAE) and the Romanian Diplomatic Institute (IDR), in partnership with the embassies of Latin American countries in Bucharest and Real Elcano Institute.

In this context, together with Latin American partners, the desire to relaunch the biregional partnership, in the light of the new geopolitical realities, and to intensify cooperation in areas such as: climate change, emergency management, digitalization, culture and education.

Romania’s political will to revive the EU-CELAC biregional partnership was also reconfirmed and a call was made for joint commitments to strengthen multilateralism.
