Valentin Nicolaescu, participated in the international conference ”Failed States. Boundaries, Current Cases, Practical Issues”, organized by the Faculty of Political Sciences at Istanbul University

From October 5th to 8th, our colleague,Valentin Nicolaescu, participated in the international conference ”Failed States. Boundaries, Current Cases, Practical Issues”, organized by the Faculty of Political Sciences at Istanbul University. During the event, Mr. Nicolaescu presented the paper titled ”Failed States or Failed Science? Discussing Critically the Assumptions Behind the Failed States Theory”. The conference also hosted researchers from Greece, the United Kingdom, India, Pakistan, China, Iran, and Turkey. The topics covered were highly diverse, ranging from strictly theoretical issues to case studies. Practical aspects of failed states were discussed, as well as how these can be aggregated to contribute to the development of explanatory models for a better understanding of the phenomenon.
