On September 7, 2023, a highly significant event took place for the Three Seas Initiative: the Three Seas Initiative Business Forum. Founded in 2015, this regional cooperation initiative serves as a crucial framework for collaboration among 13 European Union member countries strategically located between the Adriatic, Baltic and Black Sea.
Both participating associated states, Ukraine and the Republic of Moldova, were also present at the event.
Over the years, the Three Seas Initiative has significantly expanded and now stands as a remarkable collaboration platform, drawing attention from three major strategic partners: the United States of America, the European Commission and Germany.
The 2023 Summit brought together not only the leaders of the 13 member countries but also an impressive array of special guests. Japan, the United Kingdom, France and Turkey made valuable contributions to the meaningful discussions held during the forum.
Furthermore, the event was honored by the presence of representatives from prestigious international institutions, including the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, the European Investment Bank, the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development, the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank. This impressive participation emphasizes the importance of the initiative in promoting regional cooperation and sustainable economic development within the Three Seas region.
