On October 11th, the Romanian Diplomatic Institute had the honor of hosting former President of Romania, Emil Constatntinescu, as a lecturer within the Basic Diplomatic Training Program for new members of the Diplomatic and Consular Corps of Romania.

The former President held a lecture on Romania’s foreign policy during 1996-2000, focusing on its reorientation towards the EU and NATO, as well as relations with former Soviet republics. He emphasized the significance of cultural diplomacy as a means to promote our country.

During the interactive dialogue with participants, President Constantinescu underscored the importance of adapting negotiations to the traditions of the host country during official meetings and the establishment of friendly relations with diplomats from other nations.
