The EU in the Era of Great Transformation and the Future of China-European Relations

She presented a paper on “The War in Ukraine: Challenges to the EU- China Relations and What to do About Them,” in which she discussed the effects of the war in Ukraine on regional, European and global stability. In her presentation, Prof. Popescu highlighted the differences in interests between China and Russia in terms of regional and European stability, pointing out that it is important for the Chinese side to become more involved in supporting Ukraine, according to the principle of respect for the sovereignty of states, a principle that China has reaffirmed in its “Position on the Resolution of the Ukraine Conflict.”

A stable and prosperous European Union is in the interests of developing economic relations between the EU and China, while Russia is constantly trying to destabilise our region and the European Union.
