Alexandru Drăgulin, IDR expert, participed on 13th June, in the lecture on Europe after the European Parliament elections implications for Romania supported by Martin Schulz, President of the Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung Foundation, former President of the European Parliament and Doctor Honoris Causa of the SNSPA.
The topics addressed were: Romania’s role and contribution to the progress of the candidate countries, the reform of the European Union, the geopolitical tensions on the continent, the consequences of the proliferation of extremism.
Martin Schulz stressed the need for amendments to the founding treaties for a substantial reform of the Union, with a view to deepening integration for current and future members.
As for Romania, the official appreciated our country’s foreign policy for Eastern Europe and the Western Balkans. He stressed that Romania s accesion and integration process is a model to follow for the candidate states at the moment.
