Abstract

This article incorporates an interview with Oleg Serebrian, Deputy Prime Minister of Republic of Moldova, in which it is being unveiled the challenges of reintegrating the Transnistrian region. Mr. Serebrian explains that while the OSCE is essential for dialogue, the 5+2 format cannot be active as long as Russia’s aggression against Ukraine continues. Serebrian highlights the security threat posed by Russian forces in Transnistria and outlines steps for reintegration, including demilitarization and integration of the civilian population. Lastly, he references the Eastern Slavonia model as a potential path and acknowledges Romania’s significant support in Moldova’s reintegration efforts, particularly in diplomacy and education.
