The Romanian official advocates for strengthening a pro-active EU approach to frozen conflicts. In this regard, he advocates for the development of concrete instruments through which the EU can facilitate the resolution of conflicts, in accordance with the principles of international law. Bogdan Aurescu believes that the EU needs a renewed focus on this issue, as well as acknowledging the importance of maintaining an active role for the European organisation in addressing these conflicts, in the light of the strategic objective of strengthening the global voice and resilience of the Union.
